1910: Whitehouse Landing

Whitehouse Landing, situated on Pemadumcook Lake in T1-R10, was a saw mill prior to the turn of the century, when it became the Debsconeag and Nahmakanta Lakes base of logging operation for Great Northern Paper Company. The building housed 60 men, and out buildings included the blacksmith shop and a barn which housed 24 horses thich were used for logging. Today, it serves as lodging for Appalachian Trail hikers as well as vacation cabins for families.
